Conditions of entry for Outside In

The creator:

  • Undertakes that the work is original and that they have produced the work and that they hold all moral and intellectual property rights in the work

  • Accepts, by signing the registration form (or checking the box on the website), that the images and art work are entered at the creator’s own risk and that the organisers are not liable for any loss or damage incurred to the art work

  • If selected and then subsequently exhibited, Outside In will not be liable for any loss or damage, however caused, either in transit or to and from the exhibition, or during any period of storage, packing or unpacking, or in any period in which the work is in their keeping

  • Is strongly advised to take out their own commercial insurance to cover the work in transit (two-ways) and during the exhibition period

Outside In 2012 National Open Competition

  • Accepts that the art works submitted can be made available for sale on the Outside In website and online gallery following the announcement of the 2012 finalists during the exhibition

  • Accepts that the works will be available for sale at the price stated by the artist on their online entry or registration form and that - if they are VAT registered VAT will be included in the price of the work

  • Outside In will take no responsibility for handling of VAT that Outside In will take a commission of 30% of the stated price that the price will be listed in the catalogue and on the Outside In website

  • Accepts that any art commission arising to the creator directly from the Outside In Exhibition will carry a commission to Outside In of 10%

  • If selected for the exhibition, the creator will make available to Outside In the same work as previously submitted

  • Deliver the work directly to Pallant House Gallery by the artist or their representative by a specified date to be notified by Outside In or deliver the work to a specific collection point at a specified date to be notified by Outside In

  • Accepts that the work must be available for hanging at Pallant House Gallery for the duration of the exhibition (from 27th October 2012 till 3rd February 2013)

  • Agrees to the reproduction of their work by Outside In (at no fee) in association with the exhibition (including press/publicity/website & catalogue and any other printed material). The artist will always be credited and retain copyright

  • Undertakes that their Artist’s Statement is accurate and may be used by Outside In as text for labels and wall text to support its exhibitions (including press/publicity/website & catalogue and any other printed material)

  • Will note that work selected for Outside In 2012 may not in be hung

  • That all work whether hung or not will be available for regional exhibitions or other exhibitions till the end of 2013

  • Accepts that Works selected for hanging in October 2012 (date to be confirmed) must be available from the time of submission until the end of 2013

  • Accepts that they will be responsible for the collection of the work at the end of the period for which it is needed via a process to be notified

  • Accepts that the same terms and conditions as described above will apply to any subsequent ‘Outside In’ exhibitions in which the work is selected to appear following the initial exhibition

 

Entry of works into the competition:

  • Tou must have an online gallery
  • There is no submission fee for entering the competition
  • A maximum of two works may be entered for Outside In 2012. One image (only) of each art work must be submitted
  • The image(s) of the work(s) must not be manipulated in any way and must be of the work(s) entered
  • The image(s) and the completed submission form must be submitted online or if you are unable to submit online we will accept images on a CD, clearly labelled with submission numbers, with the completed submission form sent to the following address: Submissions, 2012 Outside In National Open Art Competition, Pallant House Gallery, 9 North Pallant Chichester, West Sussex PO19 1TJ

  • The image(s) and completed submission form must be submitted by midnight 20 July 2012

  • Full details about making entries to the competition including digital image requirements, are available on line

  • If you feel you have not been judged fairly after your acceptance of the Outside In's conditions of entry, please send us details of your complaint and we will review it within 14 days

Outside In:London 2012

  • Deliver the work directly to the Café Gallery Project Gallery, Southwark Park by the artist or their representative by a specified date to be notified by Outside In or deliver the work to a specific collection point at a specified date to be notified by Outside In
  • Accepts that the work must be available for hanging at Café Gallery Project Gallery for the duration of the exhibition (from 15th August 2012 till 9th September 2012)

  • Will note that work selected for Outside In:London may not in be hung

Entry of works into Outside In: London

  • There is no submission fee for entering the competition
  • A maximum of five works may be entered for Outside In:London. One image (only) of each art work must be submitted.
  • The image(s) of the work(s) must not be manipulated in any way and must be of the work(s) entered.
  • The image(s) and the completed submission form must be submitted online or if you are unable to submit online we will accept images on a CD, clearly labelled with submission numbers, with the completed submission form sent to the following address:

  • The image(s) and completed submission form must be submitted by midnight on 26th May 2012
