“My art has always been important to me and being seen as an artist first, not just as someone with learning difficulties, or the names they used to call us. Kathy and I talked about it in 1988 and we said, 'let's be called Artists First because that's how we want to be seen.' I am now a member of Artists First in Bristol. Art is important because it shows people what we can do; it changes people's attitudes. I have been in lots of exhibitions and sold my work. I shall always work at my art because it makes me feel so strong.”
