Sarah Louise Brack

I have drawn, painted and taken photographs (starting with a box Brownie before I started school) all of my life. You never stop learning about light, dark, form, colour etc. and are constantly honing your skills. I usually work in mixed media and take any opportunities that I can to learn new techniques/disciplines, to continually evolve my work. I gained my BA(Hons) Fine Art in 1990 and a PGCE in Technology in 1995. This allowed me to teach both art and design technology at several schools, including a private school in Madrid. Whilst I specialised in film, video and photography, both black and white and colour, for my degree, I always maintained my interest in life-drawing and printing. I also exhibited at Nottingham Open Artists Exhibition during the three years of my degree; as well as the Northern College of Music and various other exhibitions over the years. Although I was teaching art groups to adults I am now concentrating on my own art work. I constantly reinterpret the world around me, and how it affects me, in pencil, pastel, charcoal, paint, print, photography, jewellery, sculpture and stained glass. I was pleased in March 2011 to have a large stained glass nude "My Body's Too Bootylicious For Ya" purchased by Mr Charles Ingram, of The Ingram Collection of Modern British Art, from a group exhibition at the Lightbox in Woking.

Your ideas and creations have a macabre edge to them that is effective and also humourous.
