This piece represents many things including the link between mind and body, the food feeding the body and the drugs attacking or feeding the mind !?
Zero (shame on the catwalk)
60x36x10cms
This piece was inspired by time I spent around some people with eating disorders who spoke openly about the pressure to look ultra slim, I realized it was not all about this pressure from the media, it was just an additional brick in the wall.
Merman
A4
My interpretation of a 16th century woodcarving of a Merman.

Salome
H30cm, W20cm, Watercolour on board.
An Impression of a tuareg dancer.
In the Souk
H30cm, W20cm, Acrylic on board.
Impression of a Moorish figure standing in the shadows, painted in Andalucia, a departure from Sculpting which I found quite difficult.
Tree of Jewels
H65cm
I was inspired by a beautiful papier mache tree sculpture made by one of our art workers which I developed into a jewellery hanging tree.
Threshold
H95cm, W30cm, Wire/Papier mache
This was my first sculpture, my dark and depressing drawings had been brought to "life", this was very emotional for me and represented a real breakthrough in my work.
Edge head
This close up of the Edge feels so powerful for me, it has real strength.
The Edge
H58cm, W23cm,Mixed Media.
The Edge represents my dark solitary figures moving on to a new beginning, on the edge of discovery.
The Calm
Photography
I was completely overwhelmed by the power of this storm about to hit, there is a massive mountain range behind the clouds.
There was a heavy storm just after the calm of this photograph.
Within
H32cm, W36cm, Mixed media on board
This lost and trapped figure seems to be adrift in space or time, it seems to be a meeting of my dark and lonely drawings with sculpture starting to appear.
Blueglass
Photography
I was fascinated by the light and reflection from this glass orb, the camera seemed the perfect way to preserve its beauty.
From Mighty Acorns
35cms Thermalite building block
Acorn carved from cellular building block, a really interesting medium as there are many surprises hidden within.
Blood in the wire
H94cms, W56cms.
Originally the armature for a papier mache sculpture but the twisted wire took on a life of its own, it has movement and presence. The "blood" is the life force rising from the earth through the sculpture.

Wow , thank you Alice, my first critique! you often wonder how other people view your work and I am so pleased you like it.
I suppose some of my work is unusual, but that is what appears when I get lost creating it.
Thank you again for your comments.
