Exhibition at CGP London
CGP London is a purpose-built art gallery in Southwark Park, near to Tower Bridge
Artists meeting the Outside In criteria* living within Greater London are invited to submit five pieces of work to be considered for inclusion in an exhibition at Cafe Gallery to take place between 15th August - 9th September 2012, to be known as Outside In: London. This will coincide with the Paralympics (29th August – 9th September 2012).
*Outside In Criteria: Outside In aims to provide a platform for artists who find it difficult to access the art world either because of mental health issues, disability, health, social circumstance or because their work does not conform to what is normally considered as art.
Outside In has no set creative criteria, boundary in art process or limit on subject for the artists that choose to align themselves with the project.
Outside In will promote the opportunity for five artists living within Greater London to have an exhibition of their work as part of a group show at Cafe Gallery - which is one of two contemporary art galleries located in Southwark Park and managed by CGP London. The galleries are financially supported by Arts Council England and Southwark Council. Concurrent to the Outside In exhibition, author/film-maker Iain Sinclair and artist/film-maker Andrew Kötting with be presenting Swandown at Dilston Grove - CGP London's other venue in Southwark Park.
The closing date for applications is Saturday 26th May 2012. A panel of five selectors will then choose eight artists from the online submissions who will be visited at their studios. Once these have taken place, a decision will be made on the five artists who will be exhibiting their work at Outside In: London. It is proposed that the work of all the shortlisted artists be screened during the exhibition on a monitor.

Exhibition at Bethlem Gallery, London
There will be an exhibition at Bethlem Gallery for one artist from SLAM (South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust) from 29th August - 21st September 2012 (dates tbc). Running alongside this Bethlem Museum will exhibit pieces from their Outsider Art Collection, which will be an opportunity to see some outstanding Outsider Art work.
