Thank you so much for wanting to find out a little more about me. Art for me is an expression of the impressions that life leaves behind. Emotional footprints. It may be a film I have seen, a book I have read, an emotion I have felt, or an event in life's incredibly complex weave. Most of my work reflects a moment in time that was kind enough to leave a beautifully visual calling card, that will rattle around in my mind's eye until I finally surrender, and pick up my paintbrush! Mental illness and trauma are terrible afflictions with far reaching effects that often the people around the sufferer do not fully understand. In the bottom right of the work, Sanity is lured away by the Eye Of Reason, the remainder of the work represents part of this process, the ear is enlarged for example to enable the subject to hear the whispers of his heart..... He salivates, - a result of the medication. The saliva flows down to his heart cavity which reflects a still calm lagoon. So long as he holds this place in his heart he should be fine........ -

The mind is a whirlpool when we are asleep....Perception is key. Look at the bird. Now lean your head toward 10 o'clock and you will see the bird is in fact a Woolly Mammoth. It can be whatever you want it to be. It is your perception to perceive whatever you wish. -

My first self portrait! I studied the rear of myself for many hours in a mirror before attempting to commit my paintbrush to the figure of me dancing in the rain, with my friend, Kunal Sharma, depicted here as a lion, singing for me. In my bleakest hours his kind words and perpetual encouragment inspired me to keep pushing forward and to literally dance in the rains of life. I learned many lessons during this phase of my life, and wanted to pay homage to progress. -

This is a painting which was inspired by the Jean Ryhs' novel Wide Sargasso Sea, which is the prequel of Jane Eyre. WSS tells the story of Antoinette Cosway, also known as the first Mrs. Rochester who resided in the Attic of the Rochester household. It is a tale of racism, emotional abuse, and deep surpression. The original painting is of course in colour, and is the next plate. I love the colour version. However, the sepia edit is both dramatic and offers a visual narrative, reflecting the mono attitudes towards Jamaican Creoles at the point in history of the story. -

I have tried to include a cross section of my work here. I tend to lean toward Surrealism and Abstraction, although I do like to embrace a tincy bit of figurative detail in my work. If you would like to see other styles or particular subject matter please do contact me.
