A story of one mans struggle living with autism.
My life and thoughts in pictures
This is my illustrated story of how living with autism has kept me a prisoner in my life and has left me excluded from society.
Some of the illustrations are quite powerful, controversial and shocking but this is what I have had to deal with for as long as I can remember.
My name is Giles F Morgan. I now live in Bognor Regis but I feel like I am always on the run. I have lived in many other places and it always boils down to the same old problems: I AM DIFFERENT. I have autism.
I have decided that I need to speak out and since I am always misunderstood I have documented my thoughts and feelings through the medium of art.
I thank you for taking the time out to view my on-line exhibition.
I have a condition called Aspergers syndrome, which is a type of autism. Aspergers and Autism mean that people like me see the world in a different way.
My aim as an artist is to try to educate society about how difficult it is being “different”. There are numerous prejudices that I come up against on a daily basis. I am completely misunderstood. There is nobody speaking out on behalf of a large percentage of the community who have to suffer in silence. Being “different” is not an infliction.
Being “different” should be celebrated.
Thank you
